A featherweight contest between Alex Caceres and Jason Knight has been added to the UFC on FOX 23 lineup.

The official UFC website UFC.com announced the news earlier today.

Caceres (12-9 1NC MMA, 7-7 1NC UFC) went 1-3 in his first four octagon appearances, but started to put things together in July of 2012 when he started his five fight unbeaten streak. Caceres tapped Damacio Page in July of 2012 before taking home a split decision victory over Motonobu Tezuka. He then faced Kyong Ho Kang, and originally won the bout, but after a failed drug test due to marijuana, the bout was overturned to a no contest. He rebounded from the disappointment of a failed drug test to defeat Roland Delorme via split decision at UFC 165. Then Caceres made it five undefeated, by submitting Sergio Pettis. A three fight skid followed, as Caceres dropped losses to Urijah Faber, Masanori Kanehara and Francisco Rivera. “Bruce Leeroy” got back to winning ways at UFC Newark by defeating Masio Fullen and he then defeated Cole Miller, both by decision. In his most recent outing, Caceres dropped a split decision to Yair Rodriguez.

Knight (16-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) made his UFC debut coming off a big win at Titan FC 35, but was defeated by Tatsuya Kawajiri at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale. He rebounded from the debut loss with a win at UFC on FOX 20. “The Kid” faced Jim Alers and won the bout via decision. In his most recent outing, Knight took a decision victory over Daniel Hooker in Hooker’s home country of New Zealand. The 24-year-old will be looking to make it three in a row at UFC on FOX 23.

UFC on FOX 23 takes place live from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on January 28th, 2017. The card is set to be headlined by a women’s bantamweight fight between Julianna Pena and Valentina Shevchenko.
