A bantamweight bout between BAMMA Bantamweight Champion Tom “Fire Kid” Duquesnoy and Lonsdale Bantamweight Champion Alan Philpott has been announced for BAMMA 27 in December.

The news was released by TicketMaster on Twitter.

Duquesnoy (13-1 1NC MMA, 6-0 1NC BAMMA) made his promotional debut at BAMMA 14, and stopped James Zackary in the second round. Duquesnoy then faced Teddy Violet for the vacant featherweight title at BAMMA 15, and won the fight via submission in the second round. In his third bout under BAMMA, Duquesnoy faced Ashleigh Grimshaw, but after a groin shot just 11 seconds into the fight, Grimshaw was unable to continue and the fight was ruled a no contest. The Frenchman then faced Krzysztof Klaczek in the main event of BAMMA 18 and won the fight in the third round via TKO. Duquesnoy’s next fight would end up being his toughest to date, as he faced Brendan Loughnane in the main event of BAMMA 22. After a back and forth three round fight, Duquesnoy was awarded the controversial split decision victory. Dropping down to Bantamweight, Duquesnoy then faced Damien Rooney at BAMMA 24, and earned a first round knockout victory. In his most recent outing, “Fire Kid” captured the Bantamweight championship by stopping Shay Walsh inside the first round.

Philpott (16-8 MMA, 3-1 BAMMA) made his BAMMA debut against red hot prospect Ed Arthur, but was submitted in the second round. Rebounding from the loss, Philpott faced Regis Sugden at BAMMA 22, and walked away with a narrow split decision victory. “The Apprentice” then came up against another red hot prospect in Nathaniel Wood, but walked away with a TKO victory due to the doctor stopping the bout. Philpott then took a bout in Japan, but was submitted in the first round. In his most recent outing, Philpott faced long time rival Aaron Blackwell, and throughout the fight chased Blackwell who refused to engage, eventually walking away with a wide decision victory.

BAMMA 27 takes place live from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on Dec. 16.
