Heading into Cage Warriors Academy: North West 1, likely the most anticipated fight was the amateur lightweight title fight between Beau Gavin and Scott Pederson.

The pair, who are both shaping up to be some of the best amateurs in the country, fought over five rounds, with Pederson edging it on the judges scorecards. His tactical striking and strong wrestling to win on points.

The promotion today announced over Facebook that the pair would meet again at the second show, Cage Warriors Academy: North West 2. The show once again takes place from the Auditorium at the Echo Arena, this time on September 2, 2017.

Pederson (10-3) was coming off a loss heading into this fight, as his bout prior was a decision defeat to Lewis Garside. Before the loss, the Welshman had won six straight bouts, earning two finishes.

Gavin (10-3) has made himself known as one of the best amateur talents in the country, and has amassed ten victories over his career. The HAMMA product starched SBG Ireland’s John Byrne, and left him unconscious on the canvas in the fight before this.

Cage Warriors Academy: North West 2 takes place live from the Auditorium at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England on September 2.
