The second fight announced for BAMMA 28 is a featherweight title fight between Ronnie Mann and Damien Lapilus.

BAMMA announced the fight on social media.

Mann (25-8-1) is coming off a thunderous first round knockout in his BAMMA debut last time out at BAMMA 25 over Graham Turner. The Bellator and Cage Warriors veteran will be looking to put together his second win in succession after going 3-2 in his last five. A 2013 bout vs. Marat Petkov started the rocky run, with Mann taking a decision before losing via submission to Marcelo Costa at Cage Warriors 68. Following the loss, “Iron” Mann took home another decision, this time over Moktar Benkaci before losing a decision to Shajudil Haque. In his most recent bout, the Thailand native scored the aforementioned knockout over Graham Turner at BAMMA 25.

Lapilus (14-7-1) has fought on BAMMA twice, and both times has been in the headlines. His BAMMA debut came against one of the hottest prospects in the UK in Jack McGann, but Lapilus apparently didn’t read the script, as he submitted the Liverpudlian in three and a half minutes. A massive upset victory from the Frenchman earned him a shot at Martin Stapleton, who was the lightweight champion. Under a minute into the second round of their bout at BAMMA 25, Stapleton slipped after throwing a kick, and still grounded, was met by a Damien Lapilus knee. The shot was illegal, and hurt Stapleton badly, so badly the doctor deemed him unfit to continue, and the fight ended in a disqualification for Lapilus.

BAMMA 28 takes place live from the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on February 24th. In the main event, UFC veterans Paul Redmond and Norman Parke go head to head for the BAMMA Lightweight Championship.
