The Sprawl are pleased to announce an exciting flyweight contest confirmed for the upcoming FightStar Championship 9 card in London as Canadian Julian Villanova (3-1) takes on the UK’s own, John Shink (2-0).
Though only two fights into his professional MMA career, Bedfordshire-based Shink also holds an impressive 7-1 amateur record, scoring notable victories over recent BAMMA title challenger, Dominic Wooding and Connor Hitchens.
Ever-active, Shink competes regularly, mixing it up with K1 and Muay Thai bouts. In his last MMA outing, Shink earned a unanimous decision victory over Cheya Saleem at MMAC last July.
Villanova most recently competed at FightStar 7 in November, scoring a first round submission victory over Lukasz Staszkiewicz.
This will be the Canadian’s third UK appearance in a row, and he’ll be looking to make it a perfect three wins out of three on British soil.
As previously announced, FSC 9 will also feature a title fight between Alfie Davis and Adam Boussif. The Sprawl recently caught up with Davis, so keep it locked for the ‘ARD’ feature.
