A professional featherweight bout between Jay Butler and Richie Edwards is set for Warriors Fight Series 7, WFS President Harry Shoebridge revealed exclusively to The Sprawl.

Butler (2-2 MMA) holds a 3-0 amateur record and is 2-2 as a professional. The Englishman debuted at Shock N’ Awe 16, and submitted Anton Defreitas via submission in the first round. In his second pro fight, “Red Bull” faced Salih Kulucan at Shock N’ Awe 17, but was submitted in just over two minutes. Rebounding from the loss, Butler came up against Hayden Sherrif at Shock N’ Awe 20, and won via submission in under 30-seconds. In his most recent outing, Butler was stopped by Cameron Else in the first round of their bout at BAMMA 23.

Edwards (3-4 MMA) was unsuccessful in his professional MMA debut, dropping a first round submission to Dave Church, but rebounded from the loss with a first round TKO over Danny Lawson. In his third professional bout, the American was stopped by Sean Wright in just over one minute. Following a second victory over Danny Lawson, Edwards dropped two in a row, with a first round submission loss to Andy Craven at BAMMA 15, and a second round submission loss to Mike Cutting at BAMMA Fight Night: Pascu vs. Chadwick.

Another bout on the card which has been exclusively revealed to The Sprawl is an amateur women’s bout, between Chloe Spiteri (0-2) and Liz Pereira (0-0). Spiteri will be looking to pick up her first victory as an MMA fighter, after losing to Ernesta Bukauskaite twice, firstly at WCMMA 25, and then at RoC 3. Pereira will be making her amateur MMA debut on the card.

WFS 7 takes place live from York Hall in London, England on March 25, 2017. The card is the biggest to date for WFS, and features big names such as CJ Meeks and Reece Jones.
