Cage Warriors have today unveiled the first bouts for the October 15, CWFC 79 – or Cage Warriors Wales – card at the Newport Centre.

Middleweight champion Jack Marshman (20-5) is set to make the first defence of his strap against Greek fighter, Andreas Michailidis (7-2).

Marshman claimed the 185lbs title ac CWFC 77 in London, decking Frenchman Christopher Jacquelin in the first round. The Welshman has now won six-straight, with his last loss coming in 2014.

Michailidis earned a decision win over Ion Pascu in May, and has previously competed in Bellator and King of the Cage in the US.

Also announced for the card is an exciting welterweight clash between CWFC veterans Lew Long (12-4) and Che Mills (16-8-0-3nc).

Long will be looking to bounce back from a decision loss to Andreas Stahl in June. The defeat snapped a five-fight win streak for the Welshman,

Mills last competed on Venator 3 in May, where the UFC veteran was penalised for a questionable accidental elbow to the back of the head. The bout was ruled a no contest.

King of the upsets, Scott Clist (11-2) will return to the CWFC cage to face former featherweight title challenger, Martin Svensson (14-6).
