Cage Warriors Fighting Championship are set to return to London early next year. The promotion announced on Twitter that CWFC 80 is set for February 18 inside the 02 Indigo in London.

The promotion also announced that a welterweight title fight between Matt Inman and Karl Amoussou is on the card. The Sprawl reached out to Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan and confirmed that the bout would headline the card.

Inman (19-8 MMA, 5-3 CWFC) made his Cage Warriors debut in 2013 at Cage Warriors 52 with a record of 9-4, but was stopped by Jack Mason in the second round. Rebounding from the debut loss, Inman faced Leon Kenge, and won the bout via TKO just over a minute into the third round. Next up, Inman faced Mohsen Bahari, who was 5-0 at the time, at Cage Warriors 57, and picked up a 44-second submission. To close out 2013, Inman came up against Bagautdin Sharaputdinov at Cage Warriors 58, and picked up another stoppage, this time a second round TKO. Inman’s next bout was in February of 2014, where he defeated Gregor Weibel at Cage Warriors 64. Following losses at Cage Warriors 68 and 73, Inman went 5-1 with four stoppages in other promotions. The SBG Manchester fighter returned to Cage Warriors at their last event, Cage Warriors: Unplugged and submitted Che Mills in the second round of their bout after a back and forth war.

Amoussou (22-7-2 MMA, 2-0 CWFC) has fought the best competition across the world for the last 10 years, and has made a name for himself doing so. After a draw in his professional debut, Amoussou went 12-3-2, with 11-finishes. With a record of 12-3-2, Amoussou entered the biggest fight of his life, facing Sam Alvey at Bellator 45. After three round, the Frenchman was on the wrong end of a split decision. The loss didn’t deter Amousso though, as he went on to put together a four fight win streak, all under the Bellator banner. Stoppages over Jesus Martinez and Chris Lozano were followed by a decision victory over David Rickels before submitting Bryan Baker, and earning a shot at the welterweight championship. Riding a four fight winning streak, “Psycho” faced Ben Askren at Bellator 86, but lost due to a doctors stoppage at the end of the third round. The 31-year-old returned from the title loss with another loss, this time a decision to Paul Bradley at Bellator 104. A split decision over David Gomez got Amoussou back on track, before he lost a unanimous decision to Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 122. Since the loss, Amoussou has been in some of the best form of his life, picking up five straight victories, with four first round stoppages.
