Cage Warriors has kicked this week off by announcing a handful of fighters for their upcoming return to Ireland.

Cage Warrior‘s president, Graham Boylan has recently stated on Twitter that he aims to have all of the promotion’s vacant belts filled by the end of the year. He’s starting with the light-heavyweight division it seems, as he’s booked Northern Ireland’s Karl Moore in a title bout with an opponent yet to be announced. The Cage Warrior’s light-heavyweight gold was last worn by none other than Michael Bisping.

There will be some featherweight action courtesy of Paul McBain vs. Lloyd Manning, and another Northern Irish fighter, Joe McColgan will be fighting in the lightweight division – again, with an opponent yet to be announced.

Artwork for the event includes images featuring Darren Gorman and Catherine Costigan, but bouts have not yet been announced for either.

With their roots firmly in Ireland, Cage Warriors 81 is set to be something of a homecoming for the promotion who have enjoyed great success over there as well as building a reputation for highlighting Irish talent. Neil Seery, Cathal Pendred, and a little known fighter called Conor McGregor having all fought for the promotion.

“I’m both proud and excited to be heading back to Ireland for Cage Warriors 81,” commented Graham Boylan.

“As a proud Irishman myself I’ve always been committed to the growth of mixed martial arts in Ireland, and CW 81 represents the latest opportunity for Irish MMA to shine on the big stage.

“The Dublin fans are renowned for producing the most electric atmosphere anywhere in the MMA world and I’m sure they’ll deliver yet again on March 4.

“We’ll bring the fights, you bring the noise and we’ll have one hell of a night at the 3Arena.”

Cage Warriors 81 takes place at the 3Arena in Dublin, on March 4. Tickets are on sale from February 1, starting at just €15 for early bird tickets.
