On May 14, Tanko Events will run their first submission grappling show. After announcing Marc Goddard vs. Cameron Atakuru in the co-main, they have now confirmed a blockbuster main event of Daniel ‘The Raspberry Ape’ Strauss vs. Lucio Sergio dos Santos.
Strauss is a Roger Gracie/Nick Brooks black belt who trains out of Mill Hill BJJ, London and has been competing in BJJ since he was a teenager in tournaments such as ADCC and IBJJF worlds, as well as Polaris and Eddie Bravo Invitational more recently. Strauss is known as a showman and likes to entertain in his matches, so expect a high-paced affair full of talking points… if his previous matches are anything to go by.
Lucio Sergio dos Santos is a Gracie Barra black belt who has a legion of schools in the north of England. A prolific competitor who has won golds in multiple IBJJF competitions throughout his career, such as the London Open, dos Santos is a well liked character and a fierce competitor who will no doubt give his all in this match.
