A bantamweight match-up between #8 ranked Aljamain Sterling and #2 ranked Raphael Assuncao is set for UFC Fight Night 102.

Sterling himself announced the news over Twitter.

Sterling (12-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) debuted in the UFC with a decision victory over Cody Gibson at UFC 170 before dominating Hugo Viana and earning himself a third round finish at UFC Fight Night 45. “Funk Master” then came up against Takeya Mizugaki at UFC on FOX 15, and submitted Mizugaki in the third round. In December of 2015, Sterling faced Brazilian Johnny Eduardo, and won the fight with a guillotine choke in the second round. In his most recent outing, the Serra-Longo product faced Bryan Caraway, but after a three round fight, Sterling was on the wrong end of a split decision.

Assuncao (23-5 MMA, 7-2 UFC) came over to the UFC from WEC, but was unsuccessful in his octagon debut, losing via knockout to Erik Koch. Following the loss, Assuncao won three in a row, defeating Johnny Eduardo, Issei Tamura, and Mike Easton before making it four in a row with a submission victory over Vaughan Lee. Assuncao then faced former champion TJ Dillashaw, and after a razor thin, back and forth fight, took home a split decision victory. Assuncao then took decisions against Pedro Munhoz and Bryan Caraway before facing Dillashaw for the second time, where he lost a decision.

UFC 102 takes place live from the Times Union Center in Albany, New York, on Dec. 9.
